2. Please explain Dual Apprenticeship model at CVT?

Dual Apprenticeship Model: In the ‘dual’ apprenticeship model, used successfully in countries like Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands, young people learn practical skills at a specialized workplace while studying related theory at a CVT. Over two years, apprentices are systematically trained in both “Practice and Theory,” preparing them for professional life.

(Since 2002, CVT has been the only school in Myanmar offering apprenticeship programs. (Note: Apprenticeship programs are currently paused temporarily.)

3. What is Internship?

Internship: Internships are short-term work placements, usually lasting less than a year, where young people gain practical experience in a specific industry. They focus on tasks rather than comprehensive job skills and often do not follow a formal curriculum or lead to qualifications. Internships are typically unpaid or offer low pay.

5. What is the offer in (E4Y) Education for Youth program? And who should attend?

The program outlook introduces a fresh approach to addressing the challenges of youngsters from 15 to 18 years old. It takes a 12-month full-time course and covers pre-vocational orientation subjects (selected) combined with People Skills, IT Skills, Soft Skills, language Arts, Science, Mathematical Reasoning, Financial Literacy and Social Studies. At the end of the course, students will be prepared to pursue professional studies at CVT or any vocational institute or even ready to sit for GED Exam. Originally developed in collaboration with the Swiss Academy for Development (SAD), the course aims to equip young Myanmar people with comprehensive knowledge, skills, and strategies for successfully managing and growing a business. The Furniture Technician Course includes Material Knowledge, Mathematics, Working Techniques, and Technical Drawing. At skill level 1, participants will learn the principles and procedures for making simple furniture using modern techniques. At the advanced level, participants will master advanced woodworking techniques, including precision cutting, joinery, and finishing, to enhance the quality of their craftsmanship. Existing carpenters, furniture makers, and those with basic woodworking skills should attend the advanced level (level 2).
