Quality Assurance for Vocational Education at CVT Myanmar

Quality Assurance (QA) is maintained through a routine of regular assessments and evaluations focusing on the following aspects: education and employment market conditions, contributions from industry experts, learner outcomes, the teaching and learning process and its environment, the quality of trainers and administrators, and the validity and reliability of course content (with volunteer support from Swiss education experts).

Quality Audit Assessment and Results Format

The Quality Assurance Audit is conducted annually by Swiss expert members of the professional associations in Switzerland. The following assessment formats are used during various audits to identify areas of concern. The assessment is categorized into four types:

1) Major issues that need to be addressed, changed, and/or clarified immediately and mandatorily,
2) Issues that may not require immediate action,
3) Suggestions with recommendations for change, or
4) No actions required (just record).

    • Skilled Educators: CVT Myanmar hires and retains instructors with relevant industry experience, ensuring high-quality education.

    • Annual Intensive Training: CVT Myanmar conducts a yearly Teachers Training program led by Swiss experts, focusing on the latest teaching methods, such as the student-centered OTHER model.

    • Ongoing Professional Development: Teachers are encouraged to participate in continuous learning to stay updated on current educational practices.

  2. English Proficiency and IT Competency
    • Regular English Courses: CVT provides ongoing English language training to ensure staff can communicate professionally, with a focus on continuous improvement.

    • IT User Training: Regular training sessions are offered to improve staff proficiency with essential IT tools and to keep them updated on technological trends.

  3. Leadership and Change Management
    • ASEAN Leadership Training: Leadership programs within ASEAN countries help staff manage organizational change effectively and develop strong leadership skills.

  4. Global Exposure
    • School Visits in Switzerland: Head of Departments, teachers and school administrator visits to Swiss schools provide them with exposure to global best practices in vocational education.
    • Skills Competitions: Participation in national and ASEAN skills competitions, Young Chef Olympic culinary skills competition fosters skill improvement and knowledge exchange.

    • Up-to-Date Resources: CVT Myanmar maintains facilities and equipment that reflect current industry standards, providing students with a realistic learning environment.
